MapAoA is a community website
for people interested in architecture. The site content will
be provided and updated through input from community users. Wansoo
Im is founder of the www.ilovegis.com site,
a website that promotes Geographic Information Systems in K-12
education, as well as founder and head of VERTICES, LLC, a GIS
consulting and application development firm. A long-time user
of interactive maps, Wansoo conceived the idea of the Archives
of Architecture site but didn’t have the time and resources
to design it. When Wansoo met Haeseok Ko, a graduate of Princeton
University Graduate School of Architecture, the site could finally
become a reality.
MapAoA uses the power of Google Map to
unite architectural data with spatial location, combined with
the flexibility of user-friendly two-way information exchange
via the Internet. The richness of a MapAoA site is as limitless
as its contributers’ input.
We hope the MapAoA site becomes a useful resource for architects
and others interested in architecture. We need volunteers who
can contribute photos and comments for the sites. We hope those
who use the photos on this website include the appropriate citation
of the MapAoA source so volunteers can be encouraged and adequately
credited.
Enjoy.

by Haeseok Ko, and developed by VERTICES
